Yogurt Parfait
We are trying hard to eat better as a family. A few nights ago I asked the kids for an example of a ‘natural’ food. Matilda answered, “Pop-Tarts!” Timmy answered, “Easy Mac!”
So in an attempt to get more fruits and veggies in the kids’ diets I have been trying hard to give the kids healthy snacks. This category will be a helpful reference for me and I am out of ideas. The kids love helping chop the fruit (with adult supervision) and adding toppings just like they would when eating an ice cream Sunday.
Yogurt Parfait
Layer fruit with low-fat yogurt. Add granola, toasted almonds or even bits of cereal as topping. Use a pretty glass cup or a small mason jar so the kids can see the different layers.
Great idea! I wonder what my kids would say is ‘natural’ food!
