Cute Candy Corn Cookie for Halloween
Cute Candy Corn Cookie for Halloween…. Here is another one of our fun Halloween cookies. The key to making this cookie is patience. The different colors have to be added one at a time. Start with the yellow base, outline and flood… then continue with the orange and yellow layers.
To make this cute candy corn cookie, you will need to prepare
- Candy corn cookie, cookie dough recipe found here
- Royal icing in white, orange, yellow and black – Royal icing recipe here
- eyeballs (make them 24 hours in advanced, thick white royal icing with thick black royal icing centers)
After the cookies have cooled the fun starts.
Start by outlining the bottom of the candy corn cookie. Use thicker yellow icing followed by a thinner icing to fill in the yellow portion of the cookie. Wait about 20 minutes (either clean up the kitchen or continue to other cookies) and then outline the orange section. Note, you do not have to outline the bottom of the orange cookie with royal icing as the yellow royal icing becomes the boundary Fill in with thinner yellow royal icing. Repeat for the top of the candy corn cookie. Outline the top of the section in white and fill in with thinned white icing.
After the icing has set just a bit place eyeballs wide-spaced. If you don’t have royal icing eyeballs ready to go wait for the icing to dry a little bit (yes another 20 minutes or so) and pipe white circles for the eyes. Immediately add the black centers for the pupils. Use black royal icing for the mouth. You could also wait until the next day and use and edible ink marker in black to draw the mouth in.
That’s it. These cute candy corn cookies would look adorable in an individual bag with a coordinating bow. Happy Halloween!
