How to Make Fondant Flowers
It is so easy to make fondant flowers for cupcake or cookie embellishments. Pictured above are some mini cupcakes I made for a bridal shower. I had to really rush with this project, but the flowers hide any mistakes in the way I piped the buttercream icing. This is such a fun activity to do with the kids. All you have to do is roll the fondant thin, cut with PME blossom cutters, and add a white center to the flowers. These flowers make any cupcake adorable. For information on how to make your own fondant at home check out this post.

It is so easy to make these fondant flowers. Simply roll the prepared marshmallow fondant thin, and cut with the PME floral plunger cutters.
Allow the blossoms to dry out a bit before using. All that has to be done now is to add a white center using either royal icing or a thick glaze. If I do not have royal icing on hand, I mix powdered sugar with just enough milk to make a thick consistency icing. I use a piping bag with a Wilton #2 round tip to add the centers to the blossoms. The royal icing or glaze icing works like a glue to hold layers of the daisies together as well.
My kids love to help making fondant embellishments. It’s like playing with play-dough but much tastier.
Above, we made hundreds of little stars for a baby shower.
These yellow fondant stars made these mini cupcakes really stand out.
I guess I can’t stress enough how much I love these little tools. They make cupcakes so adorable people will think you worked for hours.
