One Hundred Dresses Cookies
A friend requested cookie favors for a large one hundred dresses event. The budget was tight so we decided to keep these one hundred dresses cookie favors very simple. I outlined and flooded each cookie in royal icing. When the cookies were dry I added a simple white sash to each dress along with a small fondant flower. The cookies were individually packed with a coordinating ribbon. This was the perfect favor for a one hundred dresses event.

Step 1 – One Hundred Dresses Cookies – Prepare cookie dough, cut and bake cookies
For these one hundred dresses cookies we weren’t too worried about a perfect shape so we decided to use this sugar cookie recipe. It does tend to expand slightly, but the flavor can not be beat. Here is a link to the recipe I used for these cookies. I am slowly transitioning to other sugar cookie recipes that I have not blogged yet. To help reduce spreading, freeze the cut shapes before baking. I am working with the #worldsworstoven so my cookies spread more than they would in a better oven. We made about 75 cookies out of the recipe listed above. I was so glad just one recipe was enough!
Step 2 – One Hundred Dresses Cookies – Prepare Royal Icing
I used regular royal icing for these cookies. Here is the recipe I use for regular royal icing. Because I really thinned out the icing I did not have any problems with the icing drying rock hard. I added lots of vanilla, almond and a bit of lemon extract to the icing to give it a nice flavor. You could also use royal glaze icing, recipe found here.
For the One Hundred Dresses Cookies I made the following:
- Royal icing dyed with Americolor soft pink, thicker (soft flowing peaks) for outlining and thin icing (like honey) for flooding
- Sky blue royal icing – again thick for outlining and thin for flooding the cookies
- Yellow royal icing – thick for outlining and thin for flooding the cookies
- White royal icing – thick for the sash details.
I also made small flowers out of fondant. The fondant for the little flowers was dyed using the same colors as listed above. Refer to this post to see how I made the small fondant flowers.
Step 3 – One Hundred Dresses Cookies – Decorate the Cookies
These one hundred dresses cookies were so fun to decorate because they are so simple! Just outline each cookie in the thicker royal icing then flood immediately with the thinned icing. My kids helped with this project and we finished the base layer in less than an hour.
Simply outline the cookies with royal icing and flood with the thinned royal icing. Pop any bubbles so you have a nice smooth surface. Once the hundred dress cookies are dry add white icing, and the fondant flower.
I love how simple yet beautiful these hundred dress cookies came out. I would definitely make these again.
